Watching Active Rain With Love And Interest

By
Real Estate Agent with Howard Hanna Cleveland City Office

I can't believe how attached I am to this place and I have been here what, a week? I've been trying to get better at layout on here, went to writely.com mentioned by Colleen K in her blog today. I had fun writing a blog for AR there, and somehow I think it disappeared into the etherworld.  No worries, I can continue to work at it.

Why am I watching Active Rain? Besides learning everything I can, I am excited at the cutting edge feel this place has.  I love our niche in the world; And I have a feeling in the not too distant future, the general public will begin bloggin more; has to be true. Anything this addictive and wonderful will reach the masses.  My home page is the Washington Post and just in the past six months, comments/blogs on stories reporters write, and individual blogs by Post reporters are cropping up all over that site.  It's not an accident. Colleen's blog compiles suggestions a lot of you have made. I'm new, I love it here; and all I know is I have learned more here in a week than I thought was possible. What am I working on next week? Bonnie Erickson will take me to task as she has kindly made it her mission to show me how to link; ty Bonnie!  Maureen will nudge me enough that I will finally learn how to float graphics, wrap text and more.

There are tons of blogs already, but I'm thinking blogging could replace text messaging as an addiction, or instant messaging like AIM or YahooMessenger.  What do you think?

I promise not to always be so mushy, but reading 30 to 50 blogs a day and blogging with many of you, I feel even prouder to be a professional Realtor. Thank the spirits for ePRO and RealTalk which got me to Bonnie which got me here. May we never have to leave.

Thank you for being so welcoming, John! I had to check out your blog and it's after 3am so I can't read them all tonight but what a wealth of good information! Just reinforces what I said, AR is the bomb!

Welcome Carole,

And the fun begins.  This definitely is an addictive place and you'll find yourself experiencing the world differently.  You'll begin to think, "can I blog about that?"

Carole... I never had those addictions.  Coke, the diet variety and blogoholism are two addictions I have struggled with...

Have you read the classic Sellsius° Blog entry about being a Blogoholic?  Wish I had the url handy...

Floating photos is a snap...  I spent almost an hour yesterday with a RealTown Blogger who has one entry on his blog trying to help him do a link on his blog to his website from an image....step by step... I ended up with a picture of him and his wife on my blog... and he said he did not have a link on his blog to his website.  I am no teacher....Frustrating!

Did you leave the photo on your blog? You can say it is your new friend! And I have already learned from you, Maureen so you ARE a teacher! And Craig, Maureen F and Dimitri, I found myself reading the Washington Post on line yesterday and all one syllable 'b' words (banking, broadening, etc) looked like the word blogging to me. I had to stop reading!  Off to the Blogaholic Blog.....

Welcome to AR Carole. I'm reading your blog and looking forward to your next posts for purely selfish reasons. I was born and raised in Lakewood and love reading about things like peeling porch paint and built-in cabinets. Here in Arizona we sometimes lack the old house charm I fondly remember from Ohio.

How fun, Tracy! Your old homestead has an abundance of homes on the market these days and many of them can be had for quite a bargain, especially over the selling prices from a few years ago.  Lakewood is an amazing place, I understand why you remember it fondly. If you want to keep up with some of the happenings in Lakewood, there is a website called http://www.lakewoodbuzz.com.  and PS: In Arizona you get to have lizards though, no?

Thank you for the link. I do miss the lake, The Flats, snow....even occasionaly that odd, musty smell of an old basement.

We have awesome lizards. It took me awhile to adjust but now I really enjoy them. Arizona has no fireflys though.

What sets me apart, will set you apart.
Ade HouseCarole, who would have thought? We bought our first home in Chagrin Falls with a Smythe Cramer agent and now my wife and I are in the real estate business in the Seattle area. Through Active Rain we now can connect across the country! (I noticed there isn't a single agent yet on AR from Geauga County...)

Hi Gerhard,  yes we still have just a few agents in all of Ohio on AR. Chagrin Falls is beautful, isn't it. How long have you been in Seattle and in 'the biz?'  It's nice to meet you and I look forward to hearing all about real estate in Seattle!  PS: Tracy Thompson is also a transplanted Ohioan.

I've been reviewing your blog and didn't realize you've only been here a few months. Wow! You know how to make a splash. I've been blogging since 2003 and, to tell you the truth, I'm envious at how well you continue to provide informative, timely content. And I don't say that simply because you're leading the charge at AR on behalf of our book.

Blogging is hard work, but a lot of fun even still. Keep up your good work. In my book, you're a blogging "A-lister" to be sure.
