We felt it was time to freshen up the look of our website, so we did an overhaul this weekend.  It was quite time consuming, but it's very important to keep the face of your company fresh and current.

Synergy Staging Portland Oregon

Although staging is a word of mouth business, more and more people will find you on the internet.  We must keep in mind two audiences when we think about our websites.  Those who are coming for the first time as well as our returning clients and referrals.  If your site looks stagnant and never changes, that gives just as much of an impression as the look and content itself.

Invest some time and update your photos and text.  The Real Estate market is quite different from one year ago.  If your site is offering information about staging not related to the current market it may be turning potential clients away.

Have fun updating!!!

Website presence is very important. You only get one chance at a first impression. Nice job!

I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

 Best regards.

David:  I spent 3 months last winter giving our web site a complete  makeover.  It took forever, but the new look is 5 times better than the last.  You are right, you need to keep things fresh and current.  It is so easy to get the web site set-up and to let it go, but it is a major marketing tool (maybe the most important).  I try to update a little something each week.

Kevin & Monica ~ Good timing and good luck!

Michael ~ Will keep you in mind.  I lived in LA for 26 years before moving to Oregon a few years ago.

Todd ~ I know you recently updated your website and it looks really nice.  I agree it's the most important marketing tool we have.

David -- funny you should mention this ... we are working on my site now too, to add some new features.  You're so right it needs to be freshened up every so often.

David...I concur and if I weren't locked out of my site I would do it too.  (MY BIG MISTAKE).  Currently I'm working on developing my own where I have control.  BTW the link to your website in your original blog post didn't work for me.

Debra ~ Thanks so much - appreciate your comments.  Most prospective clients are looking for something that is simple and straight forward.  I'm glad you think we achieved that.

David:  I agree... I am always looking at websites and some are so difficult to get through, that I give up.... moving photos, small images busy type... too much going on...  I learned one thing in college...  keep it simple... treat your website like a billboard.  When driving, you only have a few seconds to capture attention.

David -- This is a great update - kudos for doing this in such a busy time of year!  I like that you have the currently listed homes on your website and have considered doing a similar page for our website but have been concerened about the keeping the website up to date.

Todd ~ Yes! Just because something is 'fancy' or 'effect heavy' doesn't make it a better site.  The bottom line for us is always pictures and text.  That's what people want to see in a nice layout that is easy on the eyes!

Margaret ~ We've debated whether the Staged Listings page is a good idea or not for the same reason.  But we feel it's nice to give the Realtors and their listings the extra exposure. Thanks!

Your site looks great! You've got some great pictures on there. Actually noticed one set (pge 7)  that looked like it was "staged" with rental furniture in the before and re-staged by you..no comparision, yours was beautiful.

Thanks for the reminder...my website seriously needs updating!

Margaret ~ Thanks for stopping by.  And you are right - the home had been "staged" with furniture from a rental company.  Of course staging is more than just furniture - it's all the touches and placement that a professional stager brings to the home.
