When I got up this morning the first thing that I noticed was that the weather was great - a big improvement over the last few wet days compliments of the latest tropical depression!
But we really DID need the rain.......
Anyway - with the clear blue sky, the first thought was that this was a great time for pictures! But, of course, I'd left my camera in the office - duh.
Lake Catherine is just around the corner from my Palm Beach Gardens office - a beautiful, calm park - a great place to go for a walk / jog when the weather is as nice as is was today.
As I was driving past, something caught my eye-

I hadn't seen this in a long time - R/C Sailboats!

Here's one I was able to zoom in on. The size of the mini-sloops seemed to vary a bit but I don't think any of them was over about 2/3 m tall.
They were all being controlled by a group of a dozen or so people - a local club, I'm sure. I wanted to get more info - but as the race was about to start I didn't want to butt in.
In the first picture the boats were all over - getting used to the wind, working out the kinks, etc. But then the countdown to the start began. All of them quickly adjusted to hit the start line at the right time...

A few seconds after this picture they all came about to a port tackand headed toward the first buoy.
I wanted to hang around for a little while longer - but I have to work SOMETIME!
If you're in the area on an early Sunday morning you should check out the races - the Lake is just north of the Northlake / McArthur intersection.
Hey, you scratched my anchor!
