I was reading an e-mail this morning sent out by The South Carolina Association of Realtors and it pointed out that there are only 145 days left before the $8,000 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit expires.  When you think in terms of the home buying process; that's not a lot of time.  This should provide sufficient incentive to get those still on the fence off!  Another interesting aspect of the article was a quiz to test your knowledge of the tax credit so that you can properly advise your clients.  I've included the link to the quiz below.  It will only take you two minutes. Give it a try and let me know how you did!  Happy Selling!

First time buyers need to be in the market now if they want the $8,000 tax credit. Some will miss this wonderful opportunity.

Roy,  You're so right.  This is such a great opportunity to not take advantage of.  I wish I had it when I bought my first house!!  Thanks for your comments.

I never thought of it like that!  Great post - I think that is a great way to push them off of the fence! :)

Just last week I sent out to my SOI this information, if you break it down to shopping, previewing, contract writing, inspections and getting to the closing table time is indeed very short.  Good reminder to many.

I took the quiz. Now if I could just figure out how to apply the results to those first time home buyers sitting on the fence. . .

Gail; I also used your techniques. Some of the first timers are waiting for additional perks they believe the government will provide in September. And before you ask, I have no idea where they came up with this thought!

Gail,  You are so right and most Buyer's don't realize how long the process can take.  It would be terrible for them to miss this opportunity.  Thank you for your comments.

Robert,  We find that we have to keep after them to the point I sometimes feel like we're bugging them.  Best of luck to you!  Thanks for your comments.
