The Hickory Farmers Market
The Downtown Hickory Farmers' Market is open every Saturday morning 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and every Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., April 18, through November 25, 2009. They're located in the parking lot of the Hickory Train Station.
Meet local farmers, artisans and other neighbors from the Hickory area. With over 20 vendors you will find a wide selection of fresh, locally grown produce, potted plants and herbs, cut flowers, honey, preserves, fresh baked goods, hand-made soaps, and much more.

Tips/Tricks
The market is held outdoors, rain or shine.
Carry small bills so making change will be easy.
The busiest times at the market are between 8:00 and 10:00 am Saturday mornings. Come early!
Ask questions - How is it grown? How do you cook it.
Talk with the farmers -- It's part of the fun of shopping at the Hickory's farmers Market.
Bring your children with you --Too many children have no idea where food comes from or how it looks naturally. Seeing carrots with tops attached, cauliflower with its green wrapper leaves gives them an idea of how vegetables grow!
