The 2009 BIA Parade of Homes at Tartan Ridge in Dublin starts today. Last night was the Preview Party... I've only gone to the preview party once over ten years ago and I was "the help."
I took this photo of the New England Homes Parade house earlier in the day Friday... if you look really, really close there is a big blue garbage can on the front porch, right next to the door of the New England Homes house. There are also a pile of shoes by the front door.
Actually it is a great front porch. They have it set up with lots of rocking chairs, very inviting.
Most of the other Parade homes at Tartan Ridge also had a garbage can out front or another obstacle to make it hard to photograph on Friday afternoon. Lots of last minute details to attend to. They were all busy preparing for opening night. When I get to go back to see the Parade next week there will be people everywhere...
A video about the New England Homes 2009 Parade home at Tartan Ridge featuring Doug Anette mentions the house has two master suites plus a large bonus room over the garage with a full bath.
The New England Homes entry is sold. I believe their 2006 Parade of Homes entry which won the People's Choice award was sold before that parade of homes, but New England Homes sold a lot of homes because of their exposure at the BIA Parade of Homes. The New England Homes parade entr was priced just under $900,000. A number of the homes in the 2009 BIA Parade of Homes at Tartan Ridge are still available.
Anette mentions the pool at the end of the video. It turned out very nice, very appealing on a hot July afternoon.
Tartan Ridge is in the Dublin School District. Dublin is a suburb of Columbus Ohio, the Tartan Ridge neighborhood is in Union County.
The landscaping is gorgeous. One of the sprinklers turned on while I was taking that photo. It was refreshing.
I am a sucker for a cape cod, New England homes does great capes. I tried to get a photo of the weather vane on the garage which is their signature a sailboat but I was having camera issues.
I love going to the Parade....we have special times realtors can go and avoid the crowds...interesting new finishes, decorating ideas...and then not ...we went to one a few years ago and the whole first floor had hardwood floors...not a bad thing...but they were all stained black...ewwww....
Our Realtor Day is Tueday AM the parade is not open to the public and I am going to see the other 9 (?) houses then. I wonder what the turn out will be like.
I did NOT go to the parade last year, could not even remember where it was.
A few years back we had a "muddy boots" day at the parade site which I enjoyed. 4 or 6 weeks (?) before the parade, they had an event for agents. I know I could go out while the houses are under construction but I don't... I enjoyed the "muddy boots" tour because the buliders of one of the houses took me around personally and showed me his house. He was so proud of it. He is not in this years parade.
We had black stained hardwood floors back in 1992 at a Parade Home I worked at in New Albany, I thought of those floors yesterday, these in the New England home are dark brown.

This lovely Cape Cod home is an absolute classic.
I can't see a blue trash can and wouldn't care if I did. I love the style.
The landscaping is also lovely.
