If you are a first-time home buyer, you are probably about to make the biggest decision of your life, YOUR FIRST HOME!  Like any home buyer you are anxious about making a smart decision and worrying about paying too much, especially in today's market.  As a real estate professional my job is to help you understand the process and the market so you can make an informed decision and feel comfortable through the myriad of steps from the first showing to the final closing.  The keys to this are:

  1. To clearly understand what your wants and desires are in your first home.
  2. Help you determine the realities of your financial situation
  3. Understand the real estate buying process and work together to accomplish this goal.

To help you realize your dreams, I will ask you numerous questions to understand what you are looking for in your first home, including but not limited to, location, size, price, amenities, etc.  From there we will work closely with your mortgage lender to match the best mortgage for your needs.  Finally, together, after we find your dream home we will begin to navigate the real estate maze that takes you to the satisfying and exciting American Dream of home ownership.

I understand that this process is a stressful and emotional time for any home buyer, particularly the first-timer and my job is to hold your hand and make you feel at ease every step of the way.

Nice post, Kevin. If I were a first time homebuyer, I would find it reassuring just to know there's a plan!

Mary,

Taking the time to explain the process and answering ANY questions that the client WILL have is critical.  Many of the clients we deal with are real estate savvy so we must not put first-timers in that category and essentially leaving them flailing in the wind.

Kevin, you line everything out so nicely and I feel a sense of trust that you will take care of everything. If I was a first time buyer, I would feel in good hands with you.

I love that key just about making it into the buyer's hand photo.  Says it all.
