We couldn't resist. I didn't have one... but now I do.  I know that some of you might think it was wrong but I did it anyway. It was precious. So why am I confessing?  Aren't I afraid that the cops will come and haul me away?

NO.

I think you'll understand.

My husband went with me to show one of my listings, a vacant home that's been on the market for a while. There was something there that had never been there before so he and I both agreed that we should take it home.

So brought her home... introduced her to Bernie:

I took it!

The temperature was topping 100, SHE was hungry, thisty, and very very friendly.  It appears that someone tossed her out.  I just can't stand it when people do that!!

Oh, I did call the owner of the property and make sure that it was alright to take the kitten.  Of course, they knew nothing about a kitten on the property and were glad that we did.

So now, she needs a visit to the vet and she needs a name.  Any suggestions?

Julie~ That was my first thought, too!  Lucky!  There you go Judi!  Another vote for "Lucky"!  ;~)

Judi I think Lucky has been over done. How about "Chance" because he got a second chance.

Nyssa, Thanks for stopping by. Vote made note of.  She is making herself at home... she's learned to go to the garden and hide under the large cucumber leaves.

Dan, That sure would fit I think.  Thanks for adding "Chance" to the possibilities. I just can't stand it when animals are tossed away like trash!

Bless you for doing the right thing! I would wait until the personality shows before naming her.

Nice of you to rescue her ... it is the right thing to do.  Name?  Lucky is common for rescues - we just rescued a kitten and ... yes, she is Lucky.  She is so spooked and fast that I call the gray blur Lucky Shadow.  The right name will come to you as you get to know her.

Judi - I admit that I probably would have done the same thing, although I might not bring her home, since I don't want a FOURTH cat.  :)

I kind of like Joey, a girl name taken from Joseph who was thrown in prison for the wrong reason.  Joseph said what man meant for evil, God meant for good... so Joey or if you want to go Hebrew name her Tuvyah, which means God is good.  And my best pet I got the same way :)

Hi Judi,

I agree with everyone else, you definitely did the right thing. It was just meant to be, that's all ... which is the real reason you went there that day. I don't have any suggestions for a name though. I'm kind of with Mark on this one, let her personality tell you what to call her.

Thanks for sharing.

Hmmm... I like Stacy's suggestion of 'Joey' too. And I like the analogy to Joesph and what happened to him.

Oh my goodness!!!  What a cutie!!!  I would have scooped up the kitty too but would have had to find a different home for her because I am allergic.  But I tell you what....I'd be testing out those allergies of mine by squeezing the stuffing out of her.  Bless you for taking her in!

It seems like you both right where you needed to be when you found her.....how about calling her Destiny?

Hugs to you for your kind heart!

Judi - I have a little "Scaredy Cat" that I rescued under my bed right now. I found her, sick and starved, in my hen house a couple of weeks ago, I working on helping her be less afraid.  she may make it as a house cat ... or end up being a barn cat ... either way she's getting healthy and plump!  I can't turn them down!

I'm a fellow sucker. Charlene and I were taking a break from my cancer treatment in Houston last year, and drove to Baton Rouge to help her parents move into a different rent house while there home destroyed by a hurricane was being rebuilt, and still is. I heard a sound from the kitchen, and we found a drop dead georgeous Persian in the cabinets. It seems that the previous tenant who was a dead beat, left the cat there. This may be the one time i consider capital punishment. This was a sweet sweet cat and even though they processed that they didn;t like cats, this Persian, and it is part of the breed, started working on them. How Miss Kitty as she is called, rules the household. Please spay and neuter, and don't get a pet unless you want to adore it.

I have no idea what to call this little bundle of joy, Judi...I found an orange and white tabby kitten one blustry and rainy night...she was almost drowned in a puddle across the street from my apt.

I ended up calling her "Tigger" for obvious reasons!!

May the Lord continue to bless your life in Jesus our Messiah, sister!!

=-)
