I just recently signed up for an online pc file backup tool.  It is called Carbonite.  I know my pc will crash one day, so I am preparing.

This software will back up all new and changed files in the background everyday.  It does not backup system type and program files.   You can download the files to any pc with internet connection.  All files are encrypted when backed up or downloaded.

It will assign a yellow dot by the file or folder letting you know backup is in progress, a green dot lets you know it is backed up already.

So bottom line, if your not backing up files, you may want to rethink, it cost $55 per year.

Thanks! Backing up files is very essential for us! though I didn'd use this s/w till now still I think it works well. you say it gives specific notification about the backed up files hense it's helpful.

By the way what features it have in case of hard disk failure?? can it also restore the files from the failed hard disk also? if yes then it will be a great tool for me!!,..

It will not back up system files or executable type files, you designate which folders to look in.  It is great for backing up all types of documents, pictures, music, etc.   www.carbonite.com is very informative on how it works.
