ElvisIf you are a Central Contra Costa dweller, and a dog parent, you'll find the dog parks in our area wonderful places to spend some time. Our dog, Elvis, has led us into some wonderful relationships, with people and dogs, alike.

We live in Danville, and we are frequenters of Hap Magee Ranch Dog Park. The park is divided into big dog, and small dog areas. It is open most of the year, closing in winter to let the lawn rejuvenate itself.

On Friday nights, it seems to turn into the cocktail hour, with people sharing a glass of wine (or 2).

I don't know about you but we just get along better with people who have dogs. There are even folks who come there that don't have dogs, but just love to watch them play.

Come down sometime and we'll introduce you to the gang!

So what kind of dog is Elvis? Does he get to go to the "Big Dog" or "Small Dog" side of the park when you take him to the Hap Magee Ranch Dog Park?

Whichever side of the park he goes to, it sounds like fun for the entire family! Chreers.

Welcome to ActiveRain, Jackie and Michael!  It's truly wonderful to make your acquaintance.

Sounds like that dog park is a happening place!  And I'm with you ... I get along better with animal lovers as opposed to those that dislike them.  It's just human nature to gravitate to those with similar likes.

Jackie and Michael, I just heard about a doggy park that is going to be opening in our area.  I'm anxious to check it out.  We have a very social doggy so I'm sure he will love it.

You know people are good people when they love and respect all of god's creatures, ehhh??? You have to love a pet that puts their faith and trust in you and expect you to rise to the challenge and doesn't really care when you falter.  I've heard some of those stories about the park, keep having the good times.  See you on tour.
