Moon Over Sod Field in Ham Lake MN by Teri Eckholm Realtor

Walking down our Ham Lake road at dusk last week, I captured this beautiful shot of a full moon across the sod field with my Blackberry. Of course, it was much more captivating in person.

Teri

What a magnificent shot; something about the ambiance of a lake.

Tom--No lake in this photo but the low lying areas might have fooled you a bit as sod fields are very low land...good for growing grass but too close to the water table for growing anything else. Lots of sod in Ham Lake and Anoka County.

That is cool Terri!  Oh it makes me homesick for talking long walks at the lake and seeing all the beautiful farm land.  Is it hot there?  It's 115 today :)  Oh joy!  Pool time!

I agree my first thought was that you added the Moon after the shot. I need to get up early and walk again.

Hi Teri, You those that live in Florida a real run for the money. They even have a song about it. " Moon over Miami". Guess you will have to make up some lyrics for "Moon over Ham Lake" , Maybe you could call it, " My Ham Lake Moon shines more brightly". Guess music titles are not my strong point, LOL.

Teri,

Shot just at the right time to give full color to everything. Nice moonscape. :)

Anna--We are enjoying a very beautiful mild and so far, storm-free, MN summer with temps in the 70's and 80's. Hope it continues as the a/c bills have been really low!

Konnie--Yes it is the real moon...I was walking later than usual and was surprised at how large and beautiful it was so thought I would see if I could capture the image.

William--LOL I was thinking of the lyrics..."full moon rising" or "shine on harvest moon" myself. Not much of a songwriter...I'd bet there is some great David Lanz music that would capture the essence of the shot (rather than my weak attempts at verse).

Joan--I think I have figured out why people keep thinking there is water in this photo of a sod field. It is in Ham Lake...a city named after a lake. No water in this shot but there are culverts between the Kentucky blue grass sod fields. Glad you enjoyed viewing the picture! :)
