Alexsandra - Is this the new look of homes after the have been foreclosed on? People trying to recycle the wood to make a few bucks.
I'll bet that old place had great hardwood floors that could be recycled - and people up here pay a fortune for them!
Sara -- incredibly agressive -- and I'll bet it will be gorgeous when it is done.
Cindy -- I hope they do, always a good question. Portland is pretty good about recyling -- but when it is out int he elements like that , it's hard to predict!
Kathleen -- big project! In fact huge project. I'm wondering how long it will take to complete it. I'll have to keep an eye on it!
Chanda -- Maybe the zoning, building permit said they had to keep the original footprint?, and a certain % of the original structure?? That's my guess any way!
Tina -- oh, me too! I thought that was a kick!! -- and wondered what the interior colors might have been!
Wanda - Total is right! I always wish I knew what the before looked like!
Tina -- truly hope the do not burn the wood -- and find a way to re-use some of it!
Robert -- OMG -- I hope not! although down in California they did bulldoze a whole development that had been foreclosed on. Think they planned to recycle some of it.
Pat -- At the very least there were fir floors -depending on the year built- and people pay big for either hardwood or the old fir - which can be gorgeous -- soft but beautiful, and runs about a dollar an inch nowdays.
Alexsandra,
Now that is a very serious case of termites. That could take a while to fix. :)
Steve
That is tough to recycle, I think...
seems a lot of nails in that wood...
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
You know what, I watch extreme home makeover..and I don't know if they recycle either.
