This week I came across a very stimulating article on urban and transportation hubs. Walt Disney envisioned hubs of entertainment, retail, and social gatherings a half century ago with passageways along sleek tracks with monorails carrying people in air-conditioned trains smiling as they were approaching their destination. Disneyland enjoys the ease of this transportation today. Disney was brilliant in forward thinking. This begs the question, "Why can't this become a reality quicker?" We have such a need for greater empahsis on rapid transit from a personal perspective, thus the term PRT (personal rapid transit). A company out of Sweden http://www.vectusprt.com/index.php --- is one of the front runners of this technology, city planning, and designing the last mile for personal travel. Truly exciting. This vision, along with the high speed bullet trains on the horizon for California, will reduce traffic congestion, take a step toward a greener environment and ease the path and stress of the average commuter in sections of the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino counties) especially, but also will have a profound impact on Los Angeles, Orange County, and connections to San Diego. Investors of urban housing take note! Purchasing apartments, student housing, senior housing and other retail triple net investments along these urban transportation hubs will be prudent. They will be sought after by buyers and their tenants. Anaheim, Irvine, San Bernardino, and Long Beach are at the center of this design and planning. It may be a fun exercise to visit the sites of cities and planning departments to see what's on the horizon. I will keep you informed as I see opportunities for investment property in these areas. http://EastWestCommercial.com/
