I've been an Atlanta area resident for 29 years now, so I know my way around. It's all home, but one spot in particular, Peachtree City, is where I hang my hat!

Planned in 1959, Peachtree City contains five "villages" that are connected not only by standard roads but also by 90 miles of wooded golf-cart paths. Children drive carts to school, families to either of two 250-acre lakes, and yes, golfers to any of the three courses in town.

While the jobless rate isn't teeny, it's two percentage points below the national average. And opportunities nearby are growing: ATM builder NCR and construction equipment maker Sany plan to add a total of 1,400 positions in the next two years."

Karen -- I saw that article this morning on Yahoo News .... you're lucky to live in such a desirable small town! What fun to be able to drive a golf cart around -- I remember a blog post you did about it last year too with that cute graphic.

Hey - you be careful riding on that golf cart. It looks like you're about to tip over (smile).

While I haven't been to Peachtree City (I know, can you believe it?), I've heard wonderful things. And, knowing that you're there, it's likely one of the very reasons it was voted #8!

I love the idea of getting around in golf carts - my kids would absolutely love it. Well now the secret is out! You live and work in a great place, lucky you.

Hi Maureen! It is fun driving up at the bank window on the golf cart depositing all those big staging checks! :-) Small town does mean you drive further for work when need be!

Yes Emma -- your kids, AND you would love it! Our kids didn't drive cars until they showed us the could be resposible with our golf cart!
