The True Value of Reblogging-Tips For Activerain Members

For some they may snub the idea of reblogging...the thought of someone else's written words on your blog, NO WAY! If more people really understood the true value of reblogging...some may consider using it a bit more.

No, reblogging is not for the lazy but for the smart and efficient...you see regardless of how professional we are..how much we think we know...someone else may very well present an idea..thought and written words in a better way...because maybe its their level of expertise.

Let me share with you...the non believer the true value of reblogging...tips for Activerain members..

Think about this...

You are a real estate agent...well versed in real estate but not really well versed in mortgages or home staging...so you subscribe to someone who is the home stager extraordinaire...

Why not provide valuable information to your readers...hopefully potential customers.

You are trying to raise money or awareness on a charity, event or happenings in your area..why not encourage people to reblog your valuable message, just another way to get your message out.

You know the old saying, you tell two friends and so on and so on.

You and your service providers are all on the network...why not help one another along by reblogging their message..you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

You have blog fog..it happens...you stare at the screen and your own words don't seem to surface.

Find a great post and add your own flava...and there is your post...for the day!

Last year I posted about breast cancer awareness...

That post was reblogged 18 times...imagine the eyes that got to view that post..helping a great cause...the SEO power...again its important to add your own text...your words and theirs..

The author gets link love and your reward....great content and who knows, someone may very well decide to do business with you based on the information you have provided for them.

Don't be shy...don't worry what others think..its your business and you have to find ways to get many messages out...reblog baby...I'm a believer....feel free to reblog mine anytime! :)

Midori....you're so right. I think that you are the person who's providing your clients with the information. It's a great reason to reblog.

I learned this valuable lesson from you....along with lots of other things...my Florida Fine Professor...Blog on Lady....!

Midori - It very solid advice. I have started re-blogging post for two reasons - advice is outside my area of expertise and create more content for my customers.

I have never been one to re-blog but your comment about "not well versed in mortgages" turned the light bulb on for me...thanks.

Midori you are so right! Sometimes others say things so eloquently that you couldn't possibly top it! I know that Jeff Belonger did a post on this last week about adding a good intro to the piece and give generous kudos to the writer. I believe that is also flattering and a 'written high five'.

Ryan is also right, adds interest to your blog for your readers.

Very good points. I have only been hesitant because of liability issues... both art and content. Any suggestions on this?

Midori - You have provided some great reasons to use the reblog functionl

I think it has great utility as a way to share great content and get the word out. What I don't like to see are folks who reblog a ton of stuff as a way to stuff their blog rather than taking time to write themselves (there are several here on AR who do this).

The other value is in writing an introductory comment so readers have a sense as to why you felt the post was worthy of reblogging. ANYONE can just hit the reblog button and do nothing more - what kind of impression does this create?

Midori - You've hit the nail right on the head. When I don't know about a particular topic or subject and someone has written an excellent piece on it, then that's the perfect way for me to provide relevant content to my area.

O.K. pink lady...great stuff! I have a lot of content that I would like to write about, and writing about something without really being an expert is not "good blog"! I love the reblog strategy...thanks!

For me reblogging helps ideas progress instead of simply reinventing the wheel. In many cases I stumble across a blog where someone else already wrote about what I was intending on blogging.

I've done re-blogging on several posts...some for worthwhile causes, mortgages..etc. Great post and explanation on re-blogging.

Good explanation. It works for me to "flesh out" my blog.

I wish there were lenders, stagers, home inspectors in my market who would or could Re-Blog my content but there really, really aren't. I have Re-Blogged some lenders, a stager in my market and a couple of the local home inspectors. It adds information to my blog that I am not able to provide authority. If their post with a link to them gets read by someone who needs their expertise, I am glad of it, whether they click off of my blog to another members post or not.

I've Re-Blogged people outside of my market because there is so little content to Re-Blog locally. I don't expect or want stagers in Georgia or California to Re-Blog my local content so in that way I don't really agree with

I just look for posts where the member is talking to consumers (non-members) NOT about them.

I have never tried this and there is a lot of good content that is buried and older but still valid that others should be aware of. I will have to try once I find those golden nuggets within the system

I couldn't agree more! Sometimes there are topics that I think my clients or potential clients would find helpful, but I don't have the time -- or sometimes the expertise -- to blog about, the reblog option is perfect! A win win for everyone!

I loved this. Since I'm new, one of the first things I did was reblog mortgage info that is not in my scope of expertise. Great blogs have all around information and I cannot be good at everything!

Good stuff. Nobody should let pride get in the way by not re-blogging. They only hurt themselves.

BINGO! This is the point I was trying to make in a recent post myself. I see much more reblogs on posts that are agent centered rather than consumer centered, and I often wonder why. I reblog posts that I think my consumer readers would benefit from that are either not in my speciality (like mortgages) or are simply posts that are said as well as, or better than I could have anyway.
