I wrote the above entry about a year ago because it was relevant then, but it seems the topic has made itself germane once again. With the State budget fiasco and paying its bills with IOUs, there is concern about continuing to cut various services that affect the general public. One of the unforeseen occurrence that has happened recently is the forced furlough days that State Employees must now take (they are now talking about having State Employees take up to 3 days off per month) to contribute towards the savings in the State Budget.
Convicted sexual predators must register themselves once they are released from prison. Now with over-worked State Employees taking additional 3 days off per month, who is going to make sure we are tracking these offenders? Who will pick up the slack from the State Employees?
If you have young children, that job will now be yours. You have to know who is living among you and how that may affect your children. Here is a tool to learn how to protect your children.
