Yes, Virginia we want Fireworks on the Fourth of July!!!

American Flag

I just read an article in our local paper, The Daily Progress, which discussed how a couple of our local residents have worked to keep fireworks at our local McIntire Park.

Here is the full article: click here

I want to add my thanks to local real estate agent Ray Cadell and Dave Phillips who is Chief Executive Officer at CAAR (Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS) for all their hard work to save the fireworks!

Great job!

Thanks for the kind comments Charles.  It has been an enjoyable 7 years and we are very pleased to have the Newsplex folks taking over the annual event.  They are a great company in our community.

Apple pie, baseball, and fireworks....all in the same category for most of us in the USA anyway.

I could live without fireworks.  I always dreaded going to the firecracker stand with the kids to get those dangerous things.  Perhaps when they are handled by experts for shows they're okay but they sure do a lot of damage to little kiddies.  But I DO love our country!!
