Sailing on Lake Travis in Austin TX looks like a lot of fun.  We were out on Lake Travis in our ski boat and so were a bunch of sailboats.  It was almost like they were having their own little race going on as they were everywhere and kept encircling.

Here are some of the shots I got.  Alyssa especially liked the Blue one.

The water is low on Lake Travis, but people are still out having fun and being careful!

As of yesterday, "large" boats are no longer allowed to launch at the last remaining open boat ramp at Mansfield Dam, but small boats can, on a day to day evaluation.

I got to spend the night at Lake Travis back in 1996 to watch the Fourth of July fireworks display out there. We had fun jumping off the cliffs into the water. I suspect that might be a little difficult over where we were with the water so low.

I need to start reading my comments. Comment #1 is actually by me. Russel left to go to a home inspection and left his computer logged in to ActiveRain. We always try to save electricity by not using both computers if it's not necessary.

Donna - these are some really cool pictures!! I love lakes, my grandparents built a house on Lake LBJ (in Kingsland) in 1959 and we still enjoy it as often as we can!!  I do also love Lake Travis!!

I confess. In 1969, my cousin and I snuck into the area behind the dam where the water flows down the giant spillway. It is covered in a slippery green algae. We would slide all the way down to the bottom of the dam like a gigatic waterpark slide. I doubt any one would ever make it into that area in this day and age.  Lake travis is a beautiful place to spend a scorching hot day.

I have never actually sailed on the lake though have sailed the Atlantic several times - in fact I fell in love with sailing (wood boat only please) in Maine - these pics make me want to give it a chance.

The key is to keep your boat in a slip at Mansfield so no launch is necessary. That is what I have done for the last 20 years.

This blog is to help educate Buyers, Sellers and even other Realtors across the country.  Each market is different and the way Real Estate is done is different.  Austin Real Estate is completely different than Dallas, California and Florida and everywhere else in between.  Some times there will be other things besides real estate as I like to rant and rave as much as the next!!  Come back often!
