(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday - Forget Waldo! Where's Craig?!!!

By

Sometimes we all need a little breather from Real Estate. And when I need one, I like to spend my time at a concert. Well, recently, I took a trip to see legends Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood in concert. During that weekend, I shot this photograph. Can you guess where it is?!!!

Photo taken by Craig Rutman

By the way, the concert was unbelievable! Eric Clapton is arguably the greatest guitarist alive today, and his long time friend, Steve Winwood is so talented, it's scary that one person can possess that much talent. As many of you already know, (and for those of you who don't) I'm a huge fan of live music. I've traveled all over the country just to catch many of my favorites in action. And it's still as big a thrill today as it was when I saw my first live concert over 30 years ago! This one was no exception! So, with that being said, here on a Wordless Wednesday post, here's a video of Clapton and Winwood from the Crossroads Festival last year. Enjoy!

Hey Craig   cool clip.  Eric Clapton is great, no doubt about it....but I think John Petrucci has one up on him.  (Just my opinion)  enjoy!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSlR90VEKlY

I'm a huge fan of both of them. I've seen Clapton, but never Steve Winwood.  Wish I had been there! Wherever that is, it's a lot cleaner than any train station in New York!

OMG, I am sooooooo jealous.  I know that green doesn't suit me (from a picture you sent me one day), but I am still green with envy.  I can't even think about where the picture was taken, because I'm stuck on the whole jealousy thing.

Shirley - You nailed it! that's exactly where it is! Good job! And you move into the bonus round! Johnny tell Shirley what she's won!

Chanda - Good guess my friend! But I'm sorry. It's not an airport tram. Thanks for playing! We have some lovely parting gifts for you!

Nevin - I'm very familiar with John Petrucci. While he's quite good, he isn't as versitle as Clapton and, if Clapton wears a jock strap, Petrucci wouldn't even be worthy of holding it!....Fact or opinion? I'll let you decide!

Eve - I'm going to guess you saw Clapton at the Nassau Coliseum? I used to live in E. Northport and Nassau Coliseum was my home away from home!

Terrie - Now how did someone all the way from Reno know this was the DC subway? And thank you Terrie. You know me well! I do love the live music thing! Next up for me is Bob Dylan/ Willie Nelson in Atlanta! I've got the whole backstage VIP pass courtesy of my connections!

Amy - Oh Amy, you know green just isn't your color! The picture proved it! The picture was taken in the subway station during my trip to DC to see the concert.....which, by the way, did I mention was really a great show?!!!

Elizabeth - Yes it is Liz. It's actually a work of architectural art in my opinion. And, if I do say so myself, the picture came out pretty good too!

Debra - Clapton and Winwood together DID rock! And I agree with you, Clapton is one of the greatest guitarists ever!

Toula - Congratulations! you got it right! I've been to close to 1,000 concerts in my life and this one definitely falls within the top 10 of best shows I've ever seen.

Leesa - Yes my friend, it is a subway! What gave it away?!!!

Kristin - This shot was taken in a Metro station in Washington DC this past June. I thought it was a wonderful architectural accomplishment so I snapped a few pictures. This one came out quite well so I decided tro share it with my friends here in the Rain.

Ahhh.. lucky you. Let's take a walk down memory lane.... Eric Clapton, how about Blind Faith, oh my favorite, or one of them. I haven't been to a concert in years and years, went to so many in Atlanta, saw so many great bands, great people. And most in the Great Southeastern Music Hall. Even got to see Willie Nelson playing at a small bar with a very small crowd. The Who 2 times, one in AZ, one in Atlanta, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Little Feat, Haul & Oates, on and on and on and on. I can't remember half of them really. I loved the Music Hall, small, intimate, and some very very cool people played there. Way to much fun. So, I bet you had a wonderful time.

That is a cool picture by the way.

Andrea - Very cool trip down memory lane! Thank you for sharing that with us/ me. Willie's great in concert. I'm heading out to see him and Dylan in a few weeks. NRPS always fun. The Who....Oh, I can tell you stories about those shows! Like the one where I lost my car in the parking lot and had to wait hours to find it! But back to the EC/ SW show.....YES! It was amazing! And, oh, the picture? Thank you!

Craig, LOL, I think I forgot most of the stories, uh... it was a blur, rofl. First Who concert we caught some of the flying debris, a t-shirt and harmonica as well as bits of smashed guitar, LOL. We were up close and personal. Second, was in Atlanta and was up a bit further away. Oh, how about Commander Cody? "My pappy said, son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that HOT ROD Lincoln, LOL.

Willie is way to cool. It was such a small bar, he sat on a bar stool just in front of me, he talked with us, drank with us, (oh perish the thought, I mean water, yeah, water) it was a wonderful memory.

Jim - 4 years since your last concert? It's time to get out and go listen to some live music my friend. Bonnie Raitt at the Hard Rock in Myrtle Beach in October would be a good first one to break the ice.

Blake - Yes indeed, Clapton is pretty darned good!

Andrea - HOT Rod Lincoln! Last time I heard that song the wheel was still square! We need to sit around, enjoy some frosty adult beverages and share some of our concert stories!

Caren - I called and called. But no answer. Did you forget to pay your phone bill again?!!! The concert was "out of this world" but the photo was at a Metro station in DC.
