I am reeling from an email attack from a reader a few minutes ago. She accuses me that she has been reading my blog and I have given wrong information on my blog for 2 years. I have not even been on activerain for a year!! Why is it that I am being skinned on email because of the downturn in the market? Did I cause the downturn?
All the time I have been blogging,it is reporting what is happening in the market. Infact, it was after reading my blog and getting unofficial input from me, one of the new home community reduced their price and sold out in 3 weeks ! The reader tells me that State or Federal regulators should shut down real estate agents like myself for misleading people !! I am just reporting from the trenches and telling people what is happening.Right now, the market is so hot in Windemere, so am I going to get my behind kicked for saying so?? It may come down again, but can I predict? NO. None of us can. We only make short term predictions based on the current scenario.
I am not angry but perplexed at the rudeness, anger and absolute loathing from this person's email... I have met such wonderful people from this blogging platform, sold homes to people who connected with my thoughts and have formed solid bonds with my readers.
This person can bad mouth me and treat me like garbage on email, but in my mind, I have not done a disservice to anyone. I have probably been as honest and open as I could. Is there anyone else too who wants to slam me?? And all this because I sent an email out giving statistics on the current market- they were created with hard data and not something I conjured up with my imagination...
Some people are just bitter and cannot accept responsibility for their own actions and their consequences. People like that will always be whiners and failures and will always believe that it is someone elses fault.
Hopefully your bashing reader will read your blog and this comment. It is not your fault they are bitter about their own failures, but they will continue to be losers in life until they learn to stop blaming other people and accept the fact that they are the cause of 100% of all of their own problems and circumstances.
Keep on posting and don't let one whiney failure drag you down. That is all those people try to do is to make other people feel as bad as they do. Ignore them, their opinion is completely worthless.
(ps. I would bet the author of your criticism is a failed industry member who completely sucked at the job and failed miserably at it. Probably not the first thing they failed at and not likely the last)
Miss Leader! Leading people through real estate problems.
The market goes up the market goes down. There is always opportunity out there for those who can find it and there is lots of people making money in real estate right now. Keep on posting the market facts and data and those who are smart enough to hunt for opportunities will find you.
I have people who call me just because I am positive. Positive that there is money to be made. Positive that there are opportunities out there. Positive in that I don't dwell on the negatives and instead looked for places to succeed and make money. Keep positive, it will set you apart from those who are so busy being negative that they are missing out on some remarkable deals, because there are some out there for those who are looking for them.
Thank you gentlemen, your support will make me sleep well tonight!! I can say with great pride that I have never cheated anyone, infact even stopped people from buying when the time was not right. I have a clear heart and intend to keep it that way.
Hi Rama - Keep up the good work. You are sharing your thoughts and helpful information about your area. And you have put your photo,name and contact info right out there for all to see. Whoever decided to take out her frustrations on you decided to hide behind the anonymity of the internet, and clearly is confused.
Don't let anyone like her deter you from what you're doing. There will be people who pop up from time to time that make us shake our heads or wonder what they've been smoking, but the majority of our readers appreciate what they learn from us and enjoy getting to know us through our writings.
Hey Susan, thanks for your kind remarks. I have always blogged, when I have has something to say.Not just random posting of statistics. The market has been swinging so much that there are times when I have said that things have bottomed out but they slid further.Am I to blame for it? And if someone did heed my comments and bought before prices slid, should not blame me for it.I am not a soothsayer. But guess what? The market is so hot right now that people are bidding uto 10% higher than list price!! So if this woman lost money on her house, she just recovered it back!! I am not kidding you, the market just shot up in April and it is just as unbelievable of a rise as it was in the fall !! I have given away free advice to people on my blog and readers appreciated me for that. No other agent gives away their trade secrets but I did just in the hope that my readers will trust me.Many many people did trust me and respect me for that.I hold my head high in my integrity and have decided that I will constinue to blog about my thoughts!
What a shame people have to treat others that way. I'm with the others.. keep up the good work and don't let this one person get to you... and certainly don't delete your blog because of them. They're not that important!
It is human nature to get a dozen compliments and one negative comment and only focus on the negative. Don't let this attack sour you on your blog. I am a very succesful REO agent and I get attacked all the time by the haters. I didn't blog openly as an REO agent for a long time because I was afraid of the negative feedback but I decided to do it and just agree to disagree with the unruly.
Don't let the negative people get to you.

Rama, I agree with everyone else. Delete the email. Don't respond and just forget about them. So people want to drag everyone down into the mud with them. Do go there.
Folks, I am greatly humbled by your support.I wrote this post because I was so shocked,I could not believe it!! I am going to take your advice, keep my chin up and plug away to do my job to the best of my ability.
Rama: Not worth wasting your time over. You absolutely cannot please everyone so as long as you have your customers/clients best interest at heart, and I have no doubt that you do, then don't waste another second over the person who contacted you. I understand how it made you feel though but the internet makes it so easy for nasty people to be all that much nastier. Let it roll off and move on; afterall, does this person make even the slightest difference in your life. Just stay strong and fight the good fight by being positive and productive.
