If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else. -Booker T. Washington
We are prone to judge success by the index of our salaries or the size of our automobiles, rather than by the quality of our service relationship to humanity. - Martin Luther King, Jr.
You turn on the news and what is the focus...negative news about our economy. There are however, others that are saying that the tough financial times are bringing us back to our core values and causing us to realize it is not the things we have that matter but who we have in our lives that matters. Focus on what you have, not what you had. Look outside of your circumstances and ask what you can do for someone else. The help you give them may just come back to you. I have listed below a few organizations that could use your help. You will bless them and at the same time be blessed.

CASA Volunteers
CASA Volunteer Advocates may offer the only stable relationship these children experience as they move from foster homes to permanent placement. Volunteers research, review and learn the wishes of the child then speak for the child and their best interest. Each volunteer is thoroughly trained in courtroom procedure, social services, juvenile justice system and the special needs of these children. They are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. Last year more than 750 children in Collin County were removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. To volunteer, contact the CASA office. www.casaofcollincounty.org.
CASA of Collin County is headquartered in McKinney Texas, near the downtown square at 101 E. Davis St. 972.529.2272 or by fax at 972.529.2275.
