Secrets to Ranking in the Google Local 10 Pack

Have you noticed that even if you rank on the first page of Google, you site has been moved down by the Google 10 pack? This is the A- J listings that show up either at the top of the organic listings or sometimes below the third organic listing. Sometimes it's just a 3 pack, but either way it can totally ruin your organic traffic, even if you're ranked #1.

This means you need to know how to rank in that 10 pack, preferable at the top of the list! There are ways to groom your listing so your site ranks well within it, and it's not something that SEO strategists talk about openly on the web.

Don't know me? Google the keyword "hats" and find the Hat Club listing on the first page. That's the kind of SEO work I do, and yes, I'm bragging a little, but I'm pretty proud of that listing (it is typically #3 or #5, depending on which Google data center your browser pings).

Kay, I signed up a while back so look forward to hearing about the Google Local 10 Pack. By the way my Spring page is doing better but still bouncing around. I was on page 1 yesterday but on page 2 today.

I don't understand why your site isn't more stable, Marchel. Maybe you should get a few more links to that page.

I run it to a block trying to figure places to link, Any ideas for one way links?

Marchel and John, I've noticed that it's been kind of crazy lately on Google. Backlinks really do help stabilize your listing. Try leaving comments on blogs (other than AR) that are relevent to real estate. Use the keyword phrase you want to rank for as your name, and the URL to the page your're trying to rank as the URL. Most bloggers don't mind if you do this, as long as it's a thoughtful comment about their blog post.
