Getting out of the box!

Today I am getting out of my comfort zone. I have always believed that  communication loses it's effect often in email or texting. Needless to say, I am a people person and prefer to make my contacts personally via telephone or face to face. Well, with this being said I have come to realize that more and more people are using email and text every day and in order for me to communicate with them, I am going to have to start to communicate the same way. I hope that each time I blog you can feel the sincerity and emotion that I have about the things I discuss.

First, I am a mother of two boys, Josh 11 yrs, Jacob 6, and a precious boxer named Zoe!I have been married to my husband Jerry for 12 years. During this time, I have worked in insurance, then took time off with my second child, Jacob as he was born asthmatic. I was a stay at home mom for 6 yrs, and am very excited to be back in the work force! I chose to be a mortgage originator with First Tennessee Home Loans ( First Horizon Company). This decision was not taken lightly. I needed a job that could work around my family, not to make my family work around my job! This is not easy to find in the world today, and I am very commited when it comes to family. That is why I truly enjoy helping other families make there dreams come true, when it comes to purchasing a home. I would be lying if I said this has not been an adjustment for my family, and this is why I have been reading a book that helps me along the way.  At last, a book that definitively answers the question "How does she do it?" for both mothers who work and the companies that employ them . It is called This is How We Do It, A Working Mother's Manifesto. This helps a great deal when it comes to balancing family and work, as well as dealing with the guilt we all have. The book also explains my choice in employers, as First Horizon was voted as one of the top 100 companies for working mothers! Can i say more??

I hope that this blog gives you insight about me as a person and you will probably hear more about me and my family than you ever want to. I guess that will make it clear as far as priorities in my life. First, I am a mother!
