Sometimes, it feels like I've just crawled out from under a rock. Where have I been?

At a REALTOR.com seminar yesterday, I won the raffle for the wide-angle lens attachment for my point-and-shoot digital camera. That was my introduction to Magnetic Lenses. Go to www.MagneticLenses.com.

Although their website is woefully devoid of any before and after pictures comparing a non-wide angle shot to one with wide-angle, I saw enough comparisons during a seminar that I am sold on this product. And I can't believe it's so inexpensive! $39.95 for a wide-angle lens? For a digital camera? Wow!

I have a 3-year old Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX 01 (its LEICA twin costs a lot more) that uses LEICA lens with a bit of wide-angle capability. Thus far, I've been satisfied. But enhancing that capability is going to be wonderful!

Since my trusty camera still works beautifully, I have no reason to trade especially knowing that I now have a truly economical enhancement. It feels great (and my pocketbook appreciates it, too!). As an FYI, without the external wide angle lens, the Lumix DMC-FX 01 with its built-in 28 mm lens still rocks!

      28mm (75.3° diagonal F.O.V at infinity)                             35mm

But now, with this new attachment --- it's gonna be better!

Great information.  Every real estate agent should have a wide angle lens -- they are crucial to get photos of homes.  This gives every agent with a simple camera a way to do a better job.

Pacita, What a great idea.  Much better than the price of a new camera.  Curious if you have had an opportunity to use it yet and noticed any differences in your pixel quality.  Thank you.

Pacita - I have a similar setup but it is more of a 180 degree lense, not quite a "fisheye". I then upload it to a site where software takes out the distortion and makes some pretty good panoramic views.

Jim --- I am constantly amazed at the new technologies, and I am so pleased with this inexpensive addition.

Gary --- you're right. When the first digital cameras came out, I was thrilled because I can take as many pictures as I want, and upload them to the MLS myself.

Cathy --- the megapixels shouldn't be affected, but the depth of the pictures should be vastly improved (and expanded)

Gita --- I am going to soooo enjoy having this capability. The guy who demonstrated this is Max Pigman, vice-president of REALTOR.com. Check out his website at www.MaxPigman.com

Fernando --- the room that gives me the most trouble photographing is the bathroom. This is where a wide-angle lens will come most handy.

Jennifer --- and it costs only $39.95! I remember when extra lenses for regular cameras cost in the hundreds o dollars.

Missy --- Only $39.95...that's a great price for an innovation like this, isn't it?

Sally and David --- your gal will be happy to know about this inexpensive tool.

Michael --- since I do most of my own photography (I do hire a professional from time to time), I am going to enjoy using this.

Konnie --- I didn't know about this either, until Max Pigman (REALTOR.com) introduced it at a seminar.

Mike --- I am happy to have this option.
