I'm going to spend a relaxing weekend ...WORKING! ! Compared to working during the week it's like a walk in the park!!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Richard Weisser Realty

Atlanta Botanical Gardens 2009 by Richard WeisserAfter a week rife with problems and issues, I'm looking forward to the weekend. And it's not due to the fact that I won't be working, because I will be on the job as usual.

But the weekend work is going to be easy and relatively stress free. Visiting listings, refilling brochure boxes, checking up on sellers and catching up on a ton of web work!

And the reason that I can relax is simple ...the banks and attorneys are closed, so I won't have to make that endless stream of phone calls, faxes and emails trying to finish work that has already been done, and then done again, and then done once more for good measure.

No mental exercises, arguments, debates, pleadings, or reminders until Monday. At that time the bane of my existence shall awaken again and I shall be forced back in to mortal combat.

Until then, the 150 mile circuit of checking my listings is like not working at all!

Who knows, I might even play the radio and hum a tune along the way!

You have a sharp eye. The sculpture is indeed a Chihuly! A few years back the Atlanta Botanical Gardens had a Chihuly exhibition. The legacy is this blue sculpture and a yellowish one that hangs as the focal point of the new visitor's center!

BTW you can purchase a "dinner plate" sized Chihuly in the gardens gift shop for $5000!

It is a great time to do the easy, mundane, and wonderfully boring chores! Thanks my friend!

I'm glad to hear that you are taking at least one day off! Have a busy today and a great tomorrow, and thanks for the comment!

You are right. Your week-end real estate business is a piece of cake! It does feel like we are spending many hours on checking, rechecking with banks, lenders, attorneys, repair people, all to make sure everything is humming along on a transaction. I feel like I have a good re-pore with the title companies I usually close so that is one out of the equation to check on. It's mainly the lenders to see if the buyer has submitted everything, is the appraisal ordered and how long in underwriting so can get the documents 2-3 days early for closing. I'm spending more time but am having great closing months so it is all coming together! I love the tranquil picture you shot, very soothing!

Richard, well, my question was answered about the photo, and by the way it is so pretty.

Good luck on your weekend. You have a very good point about stress levels on the weekends. Have a great trip and listen to lots of music. I hope you see photo worthy "stuff" along the way!

I hear you loud and clear Richard.  I think we all feel this way these days.  If only reason would return.  Too many people are too scared that they will be held accountable for some small ommission that they are driving good business away!

Another great photo. It is nice when you get the "down time" to do a little productive work.

I took that shot last Saturday at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens! It's one of my favorite downtown spots. We are having a beautiful morning here, 62 degrees which is insanely cool for Newnan GA in July! Thanks for the comment.

It is so clear and beautiful here that I hope to get a ton of good photos this weekend! And I hope that you are able to go out and capture some good ones too! Thanks as always!

This is a cake walk compared to the rest of the week! lol and thanks.

Richard - As soon as I clicked on your post that photo just grabbed my attention. What a stunning piece of art.

It sure sounds like you need a little downtime based on some of your previous posts. A nice drive on a clear day listening to the radio sounds perfect. Just remember to keep your keys in your pocket. ;-). Have a great weekend.

Richard, oh yeah!  The stuff we do on weekends is a lot more fun than bickering with banks and title companies!  Actually, my favorite title company makes it all pretty easy, at least for making the settlement smooth as butter.

Dear Richard,

What a great photo. Also I feel your pain, as Realtors we work 7 days a week as the norm. Most people don't get that about this job. Good luck!

Richard:  I have the same feeling about working on the weekends as you.  It's so much more relaxing because those nasty negotiators and asset managers for the banks are out until Monday.  It is a mental black cloud lifted for two days.

I decided to take today off, too...but ended up catching up on emails and blogging on some actual situations (like to many inspections requested by the buyer). I find that relaying things that happen to us on a daily basis is sort of cathartic, knowing that we have a lot in common when it comes to troublesome clients.

By the way --- I love all your photos. Just beautiful!
