There is a company that is hosting a couple of designs for our clients.  We no longer work with this company, and see that the links were not put up properly or not at all.

To protect the clients I am not mentioning who this company is.

What recourse do I have for intellectual property rights if they do not put our information up or not correctly?

This is not Advanced Access, as I have resolved this with AA and they assure me that this is not a problem and my links have been put up on the AA sites that I requested.

Every single business in operation has to have a lawyer that one can call on a moments notice.  You have to protect your business.  Moreover, if you do not protect your name for a given time (depending on the state) the person using your information may continue use of your information.  A letter that may cost you $200 to have sent certified to them by a lawyer will stop them in their tracks.

If you don't, they will realize that you are weak and they will push more and more and more.  Cover your tail and have a hit man (lawyer) to do your dirty work.

I can't answer that . . . but have an idea.  Our 'bar association' -- not the neighborhood bar, the lawyer's bar association ;-) -- has a consultation for the general public.  Someone can call the bar, tell them a little about the situation (whether it's intellectual property rights, family law, business, etc.) and they will give out a referral to a lawyer.  The appointment with the lawyer is about an hour, and it's a nominal fee . . . $35.  Sometimes, they tell you what you can do yourself, or if you want to engage them . . . but it's good to talk with a lawyer on some matters.  Might be worth it to see if you State Bar Association offers cheap referrals??

This is great information.  I know that you can file a complaint to an entity that protects the internet rights of businesses and individuals.  I have alerted the company to put my information up correctly and have given them 48 hours.

If not, I will hire an attorney.

Thanks for the help.
