Nature in all its wild and glorious beauty is probably something you see a lot of up there in Oregon. Here I have to go to the Zoo, which I'm not really complaining about, you understand -- LOL.

Russel - You are right - nature does abound here in Oregon. From the ospreys and bald eagles at the mountain lake we like to go to, to the deer trying to dine on my vegetable garden! ;-)

In Eugene, we have had deer in some peripheral neighborhoods for years...though maybe fewer of them -- as the city's policies (requiring in-filling before expansion of the urban growth boundary) makes it harder for them.

On the othere hand, we have seen an increase in eagles -- nesting near the periphery and hunting over the urban area.

Hello Karen,

I enjoy the wildlife in Southern Maryland too.  We are lucky to see bald eagles and ospreys here as well.  A few years back bald eagles were scarce in our area and they have made a come back.  Magnificent birds!  Thank you for sharing your "Soaring With Eagles" photo!  Have a great Sunday!

Jim - Wow...eagles in town! We have hawks and owls in the neighborhood we live in Medford, lots of deer too, but have to go to the mountain lakes o find the eagles.

Hi Rita - My husband and I were just talking about how he bald eagles have gone from being almost endangered to prolific. When we went to Alaska, we saws TONS of them!
