I woke up this morning to this strange, but familiar sound, it turned out to be the humming from those large diesel engines powering these huge fishing boats - times 50, that's right - 50 charter boats setting out for the best fishing grounds. You ever watch 50 boats drag race - its pretty cool. Here is a photo of the leaders.

Here is a description from their website
Anglers from around the world will gather for five action packed days of tough competitive fishing. As the reel screams aboard some of Kona's finest charter boats, will you be ready to take on a Pacific blue marlin? To mark the golden anniversary, HIBT is opening up tournament registration to 50 teams. Anglers and teams from around the world are invited to apply early as tournament participation is expected to reach capacity. Teams will gather from the four corners, including Australia, Bahamas, Japan, Bermuda, Portugal, Uk, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and throughout the US including California, Florida, Hawaii and North Carolina, lured to sport fishing's famous Kona Coast in search of a prized Pacific blue marlin and their chance of capturing the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament's prestigious Governor's trophy!
Kona's fishing reputation was built 50 years ago when Peter S. Fithian founded the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament (HIBT). Since then, HIBT has earned its iconic status in big-game fishing tournaments and is known as the grandfather of all big game fishing tournaments. This invitational tournament is built upon honor, prestige and strict adherence to International Game Fish Association rules for world records.
Why is the Kona Coast so famous in elite fishing circles? These fishing grounds boast warm, deep waters, sunny skies, Aloha Spirit and the ability to hook up a marlin just five minutes after the tournament starts!"
