The wind blew,

 the trees bent,

the dust swirled,

the skies flashed,

the thunder rolled,

and the black clouds twisted and turned and blew south eastward.

Yes, it is all over and the pavement at our house is still dry.  For miles and miles, the darkness covered the sky.  Rain did fall in Bandera and Rocksprings and maybe in Mountain Home but not at our house in Kerrville.

There definitely is a dry line about a mile from our house but this is ridiculous.  The weatherman said this storm was a huge storm covering a whole county at a time. Some kind of cumulous convection or something he said but it was not to be for us.

I was going to look at a property in the country when the storm blew in.  I watched as it took the front half of the roof off a church and decided the dust devils it was stirring up was too much for  me.  I had an empty house listing nearby and went there and waited until I could leave.  Then home I came.  Waiting for the much needed pouring but nothing came.  So disappointed.  Still a chance of more tomorrow...

Ricki, so sorry y'all didn't get any rain.  We got wind, thunder, lightning and some rain -- thought we'd get more rain than we did.  Although, it's still dark out there with wind blowing -- maybe we'll get some more before the evening's over.

Sure am sorry y'all did not get any rain at your home. I keep asken for all of Texas to get at less a week or so of rain fall. Weathermen or the only ones that can be wroung 99% of the time, and keep their jobs and still get paid.

God Bless Texas!

Thanks Steve,  It has been unreal.  To watch the clouds roll by and never drop their rain.  Almost unbelievable time after time this whole year.

I LOVE the rain. I think I've grown to love it more in Texas. Its strange but the lightning clouds are so beautiful to me.

Hi John,  The lightning is beautiful as long as it doesn't start fires.  I used to love to watch it at Lake Whitney.  That is a great place to watch lightning shows.

Hi, Ricki!

Somehow the rain passed us by in Cibolo, too. We did get a good rain/hail storm on Saturday. I guess that will have to tide us over for a while.

Cheers,

Robin

Ricki I just had to come back and tell you that we finally got some rain today, July 30, 2009 a date to remember. Ceil wrote a blog yesterday about little blessings referring to rain. She laughed when she called me today from New Braunfels to tell me it was raining so her little blessing she was asking for came true. I told her she needs to ask again.

Hope yo go some rain up your way.

Hi Carl,  Yes we finally got some rain here.  In town about 3-4 inches and at our house about 1 1/4 inches.  There is a dry line about 3/4 miles away from us and it rains on one side of that line and usually not on the other.  Unfortunately, I am on the dry side.  I've got the lawn to prove it too!

I know yall got a lot of storms in June &  July.  Most of those were too far north for us.  We are so terribly dry here.  Worst drought in history.  Maybe some tropical rains will come our way soon.  hope hope!   Have  a great week!!!!!!!
