Matlacha a Old Florida fishing village with a twist

By
Real Estate Agent with Premier Florida Realty of SWFL

Matlacha or Matlacha Shores and Matlacha Isles is unique. Its hodgepodge mix of vibrantly painted restaurants, antiques, art studios and cottages is located between Cape Coral and Pine Island itself. It is in fact one of the five communities of the Greater Pine Island where you will find the Old Florida everyone longs for.

Its a great place to refill your batteries and go kayaking, fishing, or go boating. The small community has less then 400 residents, but don’t let it fool you, this is a fun place to be just 15 away from the center of Cape Coral.

Technically its located on a smaller island East of Pine Island along Matlacha Pass. It is surrounded by water and its not surprising that it is above all and originally a fishing village with a striving artist community.

Coleen: its a great place to get away from everthing and simplify things.

Leolinda: Wow. That will work. Thank you. The sea is very calming and inspiring. We all remember the first time we saw the sea or a lake, a river. Its like an old friend.

Hi LLoyd

I have always thought Matlacha was lovely and quaint; one of those places you hope will stay the way it is.  There are also some fun restaurants off the beaten path.

Lois: that is right.there are places which you hope will get a major make over. This is not the case here. I am glad you enjoy Matlacha. I also hope it will not change. It a bit like visiting the past.
