It's that time of year again.  The time where the temperatures are in the balmy 90's - high 90's to be more precise.  As Frank Billingsley gives us the "feels like" temperatures and the possibility of "triple digits," my mind wanders a bit.  (Due to heat exhaustion?)      

Can you really fry an egg on the sidewalk?

Apparently in theory you can but not really.  Huh?  Thanks to Everyday Mysteries you can read the entire explanation.  This is a website that brings you Fun Science Facts from the Library of Congress.  Great place to peruse in your spare time in the air conditioning - if you get my drift!

Instead of an egg on the sidewalk, what about grilling out?

The internet has lots of suggestions for this question.  However, when it comes to grilling, one name comes to mind.  Bobby Flay. He is the King of the Grill and offers Grilling Tips & Recipes for outdoor cookery.   The weather doesn't seem quite as important when you are dining alfresco - preferably with cold drink in hand.

 

Now I'm thinking of the relaxing sounds of...

About 6 years ago when I lived in Houston, KSBJ radio 89.9 in Humble tried frying an egg outside in the middle of summer.  I think it was on the morning show with Susan O'Donnell.

I have never been to TX and I remember hearing how humid the Houston area is.  I remember a recruiter / hr person who I interviewed with in Akron Ohio long ago telling me how I would be shocked by how humid Ohio is in comparison to Wisconsin where I am from originally.  She was not wrong but I have got used to it over the years but when I hear about heat in the south, southwest US I think I would not be able to handle it...
