We have a homemade MLS system and it doesn't like to work with IE 7 either.
Our MLS didn't like Firefox initially either but it works fairly well with it now.

I also took a look at both of the links you provided at the end and don't really see any considerable difference between the two.
It's interesting to me that we are the customers of the MLS (whichever one you use) yet we are kept in the dark about most decisions minor and major, we are kind of an afterthought... oh wait I guess we should tell the members what is going on...
Isnt it is that pays for all of this?
Our MLS is Jupiter/Tequesta/Hobe Sound in Florida. We're unfamiliar with all this information. Thanks for "clueing us in". We will check it out!
