If you leave a comment, Jim will visit your blog and comment. The Abbey is a condominium complex at the west end of Mission Valley in San Diego, California. It is within walking distance of Sea World, Fiesta Island, and much of Mission Bay, as well as Fashion Valley and the University of San Diego, and directly across the street from the Riverwalk Golf Club. If walking is not your thing, you can catch the San Diego Trolley at the Linda Vista/Moreno station or at Fashion Valley Mall for points east and south.

The Abbey is #10 on the Mission Valley map below. For information on the other complexes in Mission Valley, click on the map to go to my web site and then click on the same map there.

Mission Valley, San Diego, California

The Abbey was built in 1972. It is a quiet little community of only nine units ranging in size from 1,302 square feet to 2,822 square feet, and with floor plans from two bedrooms and two bathrooms to four bedrooms and five bathrooms. To the best of my knowledge, all units have in-unit laundry hookups.

HOA fees are $340 to $470 per month.

The Abbey as a complex has no amenities since it is a small, quiet complex of only nine units. Remember, though, that the units are extremely large for the Mission Valley area, as well as its great location in central San Diego, within minutes of downtown, Old Town, Qualcomm Stadium, and the Mission Valley night life.

As of July 1, 2009, there were no units for sale in The Abbey. Prior year sales:

  • 2008 - 1 unit: 1111 Via Las Cumbres, Unit A; $550,000; 2,480 SF; 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms
  • 2005 - 1 unit: 1121 Via Las Cumbres; $400,000; 1,302 SF; 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
  • 2004 - 1 unit: 1115 Via Las Cumbres; $461,000; 1,617 SF; 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
  • 2002 - 1 unit: 1121 Via Las Cumbres; $265,000; 1,302 SF; 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
  • 2000 - 1 Unit: 1123 Via Las Cumbres; $185,000; 1,306 SF; 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

Hey Jim - Sweet!  I love San Diego and that looks like a nice place. I am experiencing the multiple offer syndrome that is pervasive in San diego right now.  I work with several agents in the Carlsbad area.  I am sure the offers will be coming in soon!

Hey, Nevin - For the properties that are available here in San Diego County, many of them are, indeed, getting multiple offers. Some of the foreclosures that have been on the market for what seems forever are not only getting multiple offers, but many of them are going above the listing price. I know of one property that actually sold for more than what it had been foreclosed for, about $75,000 higher than the listing price. I was dumbfounded.

Hey, Mary - Glad you liked the slide show. Let me know if I can do anything for you. There are 39 condominium complexes in Mission Valley if that's what you're looking for, and I have many more slide shows of the complexes here on my ActiveRain blog. Feel free to visit and leave some comments.
