Are there any (Sports Fans) out there?

I have been running into many tourists that come to town and ask me when is Las Vegas going to get a professional sports team? And then I have spoken to locals that say Las Vegas will never have a pro sports team because it is legal to gamble all through the city.

There are other states in the country that have gambling and these states have pro sports teams!

I think it is about time that Las Vegas Nevada formed a pro sports team and a huge stadium so we could have Super bowls and other huge sports events!

What is you opinion on this subject!

Do you think Las Vegas should be able to have a pro sports team and a huge stadium to bring in more revenue and tourists?

As an arena football fan, I have to point out that Las Vegas used to have a sports team: the Las Vegas Gladiators. However, they moved to Cleveland (due to lack of interest in Las Vegas?). Of course, everyone else in the country missed the opportunity to follow arena football. And now, due to what IMHO were very stupid decisions, the AFL is not playing this year... so I doubt that there will be a team next year since who ever heard of voluntarily getting rid of 22 years of fans for a year and then expecting them to come back? <sigh>

Vegas Bob...

I wonder if there is enough of a "home" fan base in Vegas to support a team? There shouldn't be any problem selling luxury boxes, though.

Robert, that would be a Super Bowl I would actually be interested in attending, because of the "other fun things" to do in your Adult Disney Land Town!

The reason why is that our sports book laws do not allow gambling on games played in our state.  There would never be a super bowl in our state as long as that law is intact.

Gaming regulations vary from state to state.  Go figure that there is no lottery here!

I honestly don't believe we have the demographics to support.  It would be like going to an AZ cards game where everyone enters the stadium wearing another team's jersey and then all of a sudden when AZ is winning people seem to be wearing the AZ jerseys.

You could be the lead on the effort to get a professional team there. All it takes is lots of money.
