Peak Perfomers Know How To Draw Excellent Circles Around Them

Group CircleIn all our business careers and personal lives who wouldn't want to be at the top of their game? Inevitably we sabotage ourselves with our own choices. Time Management is important but think about Space Management. Your surroundings and your environment.

Think of your life as this big circle. It encompasses you and all the people you hold hands with.

They are your world. Do you know that

Peak Performers Know How To Draw Excellent Circles Around Them?

First off there are those key people. Attach to the nourishers, the positive ones, the ones that lift you up, and the ones that educate you. Even ones that can take you to the next level. Is it a nice round harmonious circle? Afterall you are the one drawing it. Get rid of the toxic relationships. They would make bumps in your circle or even breaks.

Now to the space management idea. We will call this the inside of the circle. What is in your environment? Ideas, situations, furniture, music, entertainment, inspiration, tools, even laughter. Is it all good? Well none of us is perfect and I bet if you look at those categories and come up with some more you'd much rather have uplifting things in your circle, new computers, fun people, wonderful music, tasty food, inspirational and creative ideas like those found on Active Rain rather than things that drag you down like worn out cars, agitating music, messy desks, etc.

Work on your "space" and make it the best "surroundings" to make it the best for YOU. And watch your results soar. This may be a Feng Shui idea, I don't know, because I am not an expert in that area. But I do know that a seed does grow best in very good soil. There is something definitely to that.

hi Gary...I am very sensitive to ATMOSPHERE...energetics, moving air (I've left my office a few times when the heat is on too high & the air is so stagnant), and the flow & arrangement of objects and office spaces, and uses of color. One of the most inspirimg & highly productive places I ever worked in was with an interior design firm...everything was uplifting, perfectly organized and ergonomically placed. It was brilliant. "Creating" our spaces is definitely a worthwhile investment. Thanks for the post! ;-)

Hi Gary, I have been thinking about a Space Makeover. A new paint job and color scheme in my Office. It is fine now but I want a new lift and just a change of environment. Should be good for a couple more years, :-)

Hi Gary!

This is a great message!  I am fortunate to have some great role models in my office...including my mother, daughters and husband.  They help me keep a positive and professional attitude.

Gary:  I was just talking to my husband about the people I surround myself with at the office.  I avoid the negative Nellys and find folks that are doing better than I am, people who are eternally positive and people who make me laugh.

Negative people seem to bring me down right along with them.  Misery loves company.  Sometimes I just I just have to walk away and surround myself with different people.

As I gear up for going into my office this morning, I will think of your post, Gary. Because my associates at Lyon always lift me up, and I truly look forward to our Wednesday office meetings. It's not just a place to pitch my listings but it's a wonderful opportunity to connect and talk with my friends. It's truly an upbeat environment.

Great post - it's so true that who you surround yourself with reflects who you are. I'm a fan of Brian Tracy, and there's a quote in his book Maximum Achievement that says that the state of your car is a reflection of what's going on in your head at the time.

Not only Feng Shui . . . but it is magic! :)

Sacrifice what doesn't work and you will be left with what does . . . and space for more to arrive!
