Many days, I sleepwalk my way through the early-morning stroll I take through my rural Tumalo neighborhood with my two dogs and two cats (that's right, I walk the cats--they love it, in fact, and follow me as faithfully as my pooches).
Earlier this week, I couldn't help but notice my surroundings. Usually, much of the deserty natural terrain near my home is one of varying shades of brown (especially during a heat wave!). Yet this day, just about every plant in sight was in bloom, and even the most mundane sprout had been transformed into something extraordinary.
After capturing a particularly vibrant purple blossom with my Blackberry and being pleased with the result (that's it, below)...
