Further to mine of earlier today, I'm going to start investigating some links and post them here before adding them to the actual blog. You can change your sidebar links at any time, so you don't have to worry about getting them all correctly the first time.
Here's my thought process:
People will want to know what the weather is like on any given day, so let's give our everyday readers the weather report in Miami Beach, Florida with this link:
92°F
Cloudy
Wind: SW at 13 mph
Humidity: 45% Tue

85°F | 74°F Wed

83°F | 76°F Thu

84°F | 76°F Fri

84°F | 75°F
I prefer for the above info to show automatically and for the link to show the expanded current weather detail, as is shown above.
Readers might also like to have a map that starts in Miami Beach and gives both map and aerial views. I use this Google Map that starts at Seattle let's move the default to Miami Beach. Cl.ick on the Street View and place the little yellow man on the street you want to view. Kevin is lucky that Miami Beach was one of the first cities to get this feature. Seattle doesn't have it yet.
Virtual Tourist will give you over 1,700 photos of Miami Beach.
Here's some Miami Traffic Cameras
We already used Kevin's favorite, Miami 411. But I'd break it down into more segments.
I have several local sites on my blog and love the government sites that keep the local events up to date. I might write a blog entry highlighting them as the Open Market opens in Kirkland or the Car show is coming up. But generally pefer to use links rather than use my blog for things non-real estate related. If they are of personal interest to me, then yes, I'll write a blog post, as that gives my readers a better feel for who I am.
But running off to take a picture of something and write about it, that I've never really bothered to go see in the last five years, is not really blogworthy. Link to other blogs for that type of info.
Ardell - great post. I have been wanting to clean up my links and add weather for awhile. Great timing!
