Marina Grande On The Halifaxis still there, at least physically, which is encouraging.

It was morning when my phone rang, and it was Bob Koslow, a staff writer for our local daily - New-Journal. I guess he Googled Marina Grande on the Halifax, and ran into my blogs about it on Active Rain. He was working on the article, and we had a very nice chat. He told me to watch the Sunday paper.

Marina Grande On The HalifaxI was happy he tackled it. It was unreasonable for the local paper not to say anything about the state of this major condo development in Holly Hill. And this is a situation that never happened here in our neck of the woods, but even on a state level I doubt that there are many cases like this if any at all.

The article gives you the perspective and dispels some of the popular local myths. It tells you how weird it is when nobody knows what is going to happen. They also shot a short video, not the star quality as it does not get even close to the views that overwhelm you when you are there. Believe me, the views are fantastic.

I do not want to retell the story, you can read it yourself. I was intrigued though that the parent company representative said that you can buy a unit there, as so far all my attempts to get any information did not get me anywhere.

Last time I spoke to sales office in the Marina Grande On The Halifax, they told me to wait another 4-6 weeks. And this way a few times already. So, anyway time has come for me to check on them.

I called  but nobody answered. I waited for another half hour, and then just drove there, since it is not far from my office. The security guard at the gate looked at his watch. 4:30 PM. "You are too late". So, when do they leave? Ah, sometimes at 4:30, or 4:35... And when do they come. "At 8", and then added that I should not come until 10 AM, so it is better between 10 AM and 4 PM. "There is no business, you know..." he said apologizing...

So, I called Chelsey today. She is the only pesron left in the sales department, and no, the parent company is wrong, there are no sales, and there is no other information, period.

The way they do it now is that when the publish an article on the Net, you can leave a comment. I read the first line of the first comment: "Those two towers stand out like eyesores for sometime now." What??? I looked around at those beaten mobile homes, crappy commercial... All that crap around is not an eyesore, but 2 beautiful towers are? Really, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Interesting

Is anyone else day dreaming of being the sales manager in a developement where there are no sales? Oh, but is there a development or this is just a mirage?

Wow, if we had something like those towers on the Sacramento River, it would be sold out in a heart beat. We've been waiting and waiting for high-rise development along the river, but it just ain't happening.

Elizabeth,

We were waiting for that for a long time, and it couldn't come at a worse time. We just needed 2 more good years, and Daytona Skyline would be different.

Such a pity
