A Feng Shui Consultant in New York---Have YOU Connected with Nature?

In Feng Shui we seek Balance and Harmony in our lives and in our spaces.  A huge principle that Feng Shui Consultants follow is to allow the OUTSIDE IN as a way to re-connect with nature.

On Long Island NY, some places are perfect for reconnecting with nature.  Going to Jones Beach in Wantagh New York on a lovely evening, whether you are taking a walk on the board walk or just people watching, you get a rare, unobstructed view of magnificent Sunsets-the kind that take your breath away.

Jones Beach Wantagh NY by New York Feng Shui Consultant Carole Provenzale

We were taught in our Feng Shui School in New York that Sunrises and Sunsets have very different energies and asked which one we preferred.  I am a Sunset; What about YOU?

Wow -- that photo is so beautiful!  I am definately a sunset type!  I love sunsets -- Now, I have to admit, I am rarely awake to see the sun rise (lol)!

Carole - I'm definitely a sunset kind of girl.  There is something so relaxing about sunset.  Maybe it's a 'day is done' kind of thing ... an end to another day ...

I've see beautiful sunsets and sunrises.  But being an early-to-bed-early-to-rise kind of gal, I guess I belong in the sunrise column.  Maybe it's the "fresh start", "put yesterday behind' feeling....

That's a lovely image!

Hi Carole,
Me too, love to see the sun setting--what a beautiful site.  Of course so is the sun rise and both happen so quickly!

Carole

I do like to connect with nature; one of the best opportunities I had was when I was a farmer. Especially very early in the morning. There was a peace to it that is hard to explain.

I have to say sunset, because while I think sunrises are lovely, I'm not usually up in time to see them.  And if by chance I am up, I am not about enough to find a spot where I can watch the sun rise!

Definitely a sunset. I wake up most days at 6am but don't feel like I'm fully functional until 9 or even 10am!

Carole- I am a sunset. I can probably count the times I have seen a sunrise on my hands:) I am an owl not a lark. Winston Churchill once said, If God wanted me to see the sunrise he would have made it at noon.;)

Thank you for the sunset Carole.  I love the colors that nature provides at the end of the day.  It is even nice to wake up to this picture.  Have a great day!

I am definately a sunset.

I enjoy sunrises on the lake but not up as much to see them, since my kids are not up as early needing to get to school.

I can watch the sunset til it goes down.

Oh man I'm the opposite of everyone Carole, I like the feeling of the sunrise. Fresh new beginnings, anything is possible!

Joan, It's funny, I usually wake up as the sun is coming up but from here have no unobstructed views..I'll have to go to the beach early one morning :)

Carol, They can be breathtaking, those beautiful sunsets.  The prettiest ones I've seen were in Arizona.  Amazing sight.

Cheryl, You must be an early riser!  By 5am the sun is rising here and I'm much more a night owl.

Cynthia, They do happen so fast.  Every time I blinked that day the sun was in a different position.

Tom, I can imagine how serene that must have been.  Your pictures of your parks were just beautiful, I could see myself on almost every one of them.

Betina, If you're ever in NY I've got a wonderful place to watch the sun set :)

Susan, I know how you feel :)  Still, I'd love to get up one morning and head down to the beach and really watch it from there.

Mary, It depends what I'm doing that day to be functional.  As long as I get that first cup of coffee, I'm good :)

Liz, No I haven't but I will check them out. Any one in particular?  (I have a credit at Amazon, this came at a good time :)

Gorgeous shot Carole, glad to think you took a few minutes to enjoy it.  Well we like both, however, Al is a sunrise guy, likes the fresh beginning and energy of a new day. While I love the sunrise I really love the sunset.  Feel like Carol above, its the end of the day and get a feeling of tranquility that I so desperately search for.  But like Cynthia said they both happen so quickly! Thanks for sharing the picture - Peggy

Katerina, That's a wonderful quote.  I, too am an owl but I make sure I get to bed early on the days when I'm working the next day--I need to be clear headed and energetic.

Pat, They sure are magical.  It was a perfect day and time to be at the beach and be able to see if completely unobstructed.

Paddy, It was a beautiful sight.  I don't have to tell you about the weather this year, it's been hard to get there as often as I like.

Tami, I can't even imagine waking up to horses.  Our farms from long ago are long gone but I did take a few lessons.  What an incredible feeling and those animals have eyes where you can see their souls.

Missy, I'd have to go upstate to watch a sunrise or sunset on a lake....Wow, that must be gorgeous.

Cynthia, That's a lovely approach and one of the reasons the energy is so different.  Those who love 'new beginnings' and those who love to end the day and wait for tomorrow's possibilities!

Good Morning Carole,

Beautiful photo....I'm with you on sunsets. Twilight is my favourite time of the day...it's usually so peaceful, even the birds are tucking in for the night.

That being said, I know about the special peace in the early morning that Tom mentioned....it's certainly different energy, like you said, however each is beautiful in it's own right.

Peggy, I need to get up really early one morning and go catch a sunrise.  I wake up naturally at that time for some reason but go back to sleep and you can't get a good effect close by.  I'm a night owl so sunsets are my favorite.

Jo, They ARE both beautiful but it's true, the energies are different for each.  I would guess it would depend on whether you are an early riser or not :)  I'm not....except on special days.
