Is it possible that God is a woman? (opinions please)

Is it possible that God is a woman?

We are led to believe through our lives that anything is possible, so what if God were a woman?

Or then again, what if God was neither male or female? Just a entity or a huge mass of energy!

Some people don't even believe in God, so I think that there are people out there that may think that God may have been a woman or unisex or not sex at all.

Now I know there are quite a few religious members at Activerain and I don't mean to insult anyone with my question. And then again I really don't believe that members are going to come forth and comment that God may have been a woman because others will read their comment. And people will begin to wonder why certain members may believe this.

I believe in many different things and then again I don't believe in all the books and stories of history that have been presented to us.

There are so many lies, tristed truths, and made up stories! And there are also many answers to life that were destroyed by greedy people in time.

It is said that man was created in the image of God, but why would God have to be any sex at all unless he where to produce his own offspring!

Some food for thought!

Great question! I often have questions myself. A problem arises when there are so many various opinions on this type of question. So for myself, I'd rather go directly to the source of the matter. If it's a question on a biblical issue why not go directly to the bible and find the answer there? Whatever my own opinion is, it is just another opinion. Bottom line - my opinion does not matter much. Since it is what is in the bible that raises the question and most of us have not read the bible, maybe reading through the bible and searching for answers at the source would bring more clarity to the issue.

I'd be interested to know what conclusion you come to.

Bob, certainly some incarnations of God are women. I think that by believing there is just one guy two thousand years ago, we Christians miss out on a lot of good Gods who could be a big help in figuring this crazy life out!

Now that is a question! I do believe that with God, all things are possible. And I believe that he is a man, our Heavenly Father. Vegas Bob - Until someone "corrected" her, my daughter always called God She. I am inclined to believe her, as she was on the other side more recently than I was. I think children know the truth and society kicks it out of them. I am like you and believe in many different things. I do love to read histories of different religions and have always loved to read about ancient Gods and Goddesses.

Hey God may be a woman, look at all those hands! Women are great at mult-tasking, sometimes I feel like I have 10 sets of hands and super powered brain! :)

The best definition of what God is for me is in Larry Winget's book "Shut Up Stop Whining And Get A Life" where he lists some of his personal beliefs:

"[I believe that] God is the presence of good and the action of love."

Beyond gender, color, denomination, idealogy . . . universal, pure and profound.
