6 Comments on Coeur d'Alene's Roger's Ice Cream ReOpens - I Worked Here in the '70s for $1.60 an Hour!
How fun to see this place back in business again! The sandwich shop I worked in as a teen, my first job, closed many years ago and was torn down. A strip mall is now in it's place so I will never have this experience. I love that it looks retro. Great post! You should enter this post in the childhood memory contest.
Janna, what a lovely story! My favorite childhood ice cream stand is still in operation, but for the safety of my waistline I stay away from there!! LOL
Hi Janna, I love the pics of you and Rick reliving your first look! What a wonderful post, I really enjoyed this.
I got my first job working for someone else at the International House of Pancakes in College Station, Texas, in summer 1974. They also paid $1.60 an hour. I was so excited to have that job that I worked my way up to manager. That was when I determined that I didn't want to be a restaurateur.
ahh those were the days! In those days I worked as a nurse's aid for 1.25/hr....man that was tough work.........btw you guys look great!
Those photos are adorable, Janna. I'm sure that neither you nor your husband has changed that much in 37 years. Thanks for sharing.
