Alaska's Congressional Delegation - Keeping the lines of communication open

As a citizen of the United States, it is our responsibility to be informed and engaged in the governing of our Republic.  Despite evidence to the contrary, the men and women who represent us in Washington, DC take their cues from us.

There are a myriad of issues that need our daily attention:

  • The economy.
  • Health Care.
  • Veterans Affairs.
  • Tax Policy.
  • Subsistence issues.
  • State Sovereignty.
  • Energy Independence.
  • Immigration.

White House Washington DC

Make your voices heard in Washington.  Some of the folks on the Hill can't seem to read the legislation they vote on... they surely can't read minds.

Unfortunately, due to security restrictions snail mail takes an inordinate amount of time to reach the recipient.  Consider calling, faxing or using the web-based email contact forms for time sensitive messages, especially those pertaining to pending legislation.

My friend I do think that we should all stay engaged and hold our Representatives feet to the fire.  Thank you for being a "rabble rouser!"

Wasn't the country founded by a bunch of rabble rousers?  I do email my Congressmen and Senators at least I can let them know what I think.  Thanks for the link to the White House :-)

Jesse - A rabble rouser! Thanks for the contact info and I wouldn't mind running for a seat in the State of Nevada, maybe the Pres can help me with that!

Great info for your fellow Alaskans - and a good call to those folks that have positions they need to express to their elected officials on issues that are important to them. Which reminds me...it's been several weeks since I've contacted my elected representation...but I AM going in to thank in person our City Council members next week, so that will hopefully keep my civic duties moving forward.

Thanks Jesse Great Post.. I have been writing all of them... the good news is in Alaska they actually still listen to us and our voice counts... not sure how that works in the other states but it is very true here...thanks for a very good post!

Jesse, Good information about the contact forms. However, these folks will just do what they want until we boot them out of office. I really wish our reps would vote the will of the people that put them in office, not their personal agendas...

Helping you live your American Dream...

Hi, Jesse -

Good idea, remind all of us Alaskans of how and why we need to keep in contact.  Recently, my husband had an issue with a federal agency, and we wrote to all 3.  Don Young got "on it" and within 72 hours of his letter, all was well.  We are very blessed in our state to have members of Congress who truly listen.  Judging by a few comments, others might not be so lucky.

On a side note, continue to keep Don Young in your thoughts.  I cannot imagine what the last few weeks have been like for him.  Lu Young, his wife of 46 years, was such a nice, beautiful person.
