I've never liked that saying, "It's not personal, it's only business." That's why recent regulation regarding appraisers is hard for me to swallow.

Some of my appraisers over the years became great friends of our family. Some were wonderful office companions. Others I only spoke to over the phone. But they were all part of the dream team for buying a house and homeowners refinancing.

They knew when to say "yes" and they were more than capable of giving a "no". However, I assure you there was a lot more to them than a yes or no.

Les never turned down a cup of tea. Mike the cutie. Jessica with hilarious stories. Larry's jacket after 911.

I'll say it again. Appraisers are meant to be part of The Dream Team

Agents need to communicate with their appraisers. It is always best to make the assignments as easy as possible. Always provide the survey or other helpful information.

Come on now, I love appraisers but I have always wonder why they want to see the contract or know th esales price in advance of doing there numbers and don't say it is becaus eof concessions and closing cost.

We as agents have to price a home before a contratc so why can't an appraiser. I love em too but I would like to see how close or how they come up with the sales price.

Charles, that has been a frequent question among homeowners too. Maybe an appraiser here on AR would offer an answer so I am not transmitting one second hand.  Kate

American people wanted change. However, this was not part of the package. We need to over rule HVCC and fast.

Harry, it is sad isn't it, what has happened in the name of protection? in my book, appraisers were meant to be part of the Team. Thanks for commenting. Kate

Kate,

I agree with Charles. I've had many appraisers ask what the price was; almost like a target.
