No, I am not a pig.

Pike's Market PigS

This is one cool place to spend an afternoon, Pike's Place Fish Market. By the way, someone has created a great seafood sauce called Pike's Place that we found at our local grocer, HEB. It is a great tasting sauce.

Oh, it really is a big pig isn't it?  I would love to have a slot in the back and see if I could fill it up in a lifetime of loose change.  I can't even imagine how much it would hold...

That's one big piggy bank!  I would love to know how many $ worth of quarters it would hold.....

Let me get this straight...........There is a Pig in front of a Fish Place?  HMMMMMM.

BTW, I am glad to hear that HEB is still in business there.  They must be the oldest grocer in San Antonio...

I would love to have the money collected in that big pig. It would take forever to fill it up. Thanks for sharing.

Evelyn, Benny, Ann, and Pat-Yes, it is a large bank. I think the donations go to local charities in the Seattle area.

Terry-Those fish throwers do put on a show.

Don-You just never know where a pig is going to show up. Yep, HEB is still going strong. Their only real competition in San Antonio is Wal-Mart, and Super Target. Other big box grocers can't get traction here.

I grew up in Pike County where pigs were big business.  That was in the midwest though and it appears you are on the West Coast.

My first girlfriend(?), her dad worked as a butcher for HEB.  That was way back in the 50's.

Richard-The photo was taken in Seattle, WA. Not sure if the hog business is big in the NW or not. This pig is real novelty in front of this fish market though.

Don-HEB is the big kahuna here in south Texas. They have some super center stores that are not much different from Walmart. Electronics, furniture, linen, speciality grocery items like-cheese shops, olive bars, delis, prepared meals- it's not the same as your former girlfriends dad's HEB.
