Westlake Village, First Neighborhood, CA is most definitely a great place to live. This beautiful and quiet community sits in the heart of Westlake Village walking distance to the lake where there are restaurants, shops and walking paths. Dining at the restaurants in our beautiful Southern California weather is like being on vacation in a peaceful, relaxed setting.
There are two builders who designed different styles of homes in the First Neighborhood, Westlake Village, CA. Half of the community is called "Colony Park," and the other half is called "Mayfair." The Colony Park homes are located on the northern section of the community. Many of these homes appear to have the front yard walled in and the home is secluded from the street. The outside of the homes are mostly stucco and the roofs are predominantly concrete tile. Colony Park has a "Mediterranean" feel. The Mayfair section is located at the Southern part of the community toward the front of White Oak Elementary. These homes are built with a more traditional look, however, many of these homes, as well, have walled-in courtyards in the front of the house.
To get to First Neighborhood, Westlake Village, CA you would take the Lindero Canyon Blvd. exit off the 101 freeway. Turn West on Lindero Canyon Blvd. and about a block down the road you will see the first entrance to the community, Barronsgate Road. If you travel down further, the next entrance is called Middlegate Road. These two entrances will take you into the "Mayfair" section of the First Neighborhood community.
The homes in First Neighborhood, Westlake Village, CA were built between 1966 -1969. This is one of the first communities started when the American Hawaiian Steamship Company began to build Westlake Village. Their goal was to create "A City in the Country." Westlake Villageis a completely planned community designed for rural living away from the hussle and bussle of the city.
Although First Neighborhood, Westlake Village, CA homes are dated in the 1960's, this community has only become more beautiful and desirable through the years. Especailly to young families with school-aged children. Many of the homes have been purchased by these young families who have renovated and updated the neighborhood.
