Keeping It Private On Facebook

Facebook is one of the most popular social media sites for connecting with old friends, building a network, and promoting your business. The privacy settings are pretty straight forward, but Facebook has a few unique issues: What if a friend uploads an embarrassing photo of me? Why is that Facebook app posting updates about me?

To help you keep your Facebook experience safe and professional, here are 10 Privacy Settings Every Facebook User Should Know from Nick O'Neill at All Facebook. With just a few minor changes you can customize your profile to keep unwanted visitors away.

Remember that the web really is world wide. For your own protection and for those in your networks, it's always better to err on the side of caution.

Hi John, absolutely! We really need to be aware that sites like Facebook can be mined for all kinds of information about us, and not necessarily from our own account or anything under our own control.

Hi, John, just ran into someone who is going to leave a friend in the dust after 27 years because the friend keeps posting photos of this person even though she has asked him not to!  Amazing that social media can keep two somewhat sane people apart.
