The Clock Is Ticking For First Time Homebuyers

By
Real Estate Agent with Gayle Harvey Real Estate, Inc.

The Clock is ticking and time is running out for Charlottesville VA first time homebuyers who plan on taking advantage of the $8,000 tax credit.  In order to qualify for the tax credit your home purchase mst close by the november 30 deadline.

Charlottesville VA first time homebuyers may think that they still hagve plenty of time with over four months to go until the end of November.  In actuality the home will need to be under contract no later than September 30 to allow enough time for closing to take place.

In the current Charlottesville real estate market everything regarding closing is taking longer from loan approval, to appraisals, to the new regulations regarding the delivery of the hUD documents.  One of the things that we can count on is the fact that a delay at some part of the process is likely.

If you are a first time homebuyer, who is counting on the $8,000 First Time Homebuyers Tax Credit to aid with your home purchase, now is the time to start looking at homes with a Realtor in order to identify the perfect home for your family.  Get your dream home under contract while you still have ample time for the contract to close before November 30.
