Look at the spelling ActiveRain / AddictiveRain...

Add in "ddi" to ActiveRain and you get AddictiveRain.  Unless you wedge the "ddi"  in somewhere other than after the A... you could get ActiveddiRain or ActiveRaddiin or any number of gibberish words which make no sense at all....

ActiveRain / AddictiveRain...Merely a coincidence? You be the judge.

ActiveRain is NOT the only real estate network...  but it is different.

AddictiveRain

Hooked? There's a group for that:  Addicted to ActiveRain

Jonathan asked What is ActiveRain?  It's a community, it's family, it's a blessing...

I saw this via Twitter comparing Facebook to Twitter and my apologies to anyone who is a fan of Facebook but not Twitter or those who can't see spending time on either...

Now while I have no first hand experience with addiction to crack. When I saw this  I thought of ActiveRain in comparison to other real estate social media immediately. @socialmedia411 tweeted:

Twitter is a pipe tweet

"Here's the deal; Facebook is a place, Twitter is a pipe and god knows it's hard to get off the pipe  :) "

ActiveRain is a pipe....

It is addictive for sure, I think it is that way because it is relavant. Shared experiences and advise are very powerful draws

blogging, social media is addictive or can be.  Sellsius real estate blog started a blogaholic group in 2006?  but I am still in deep, deep denial...

ActiveRain has something special.

I know a lot of people who have broken the addiction...

It is addictive.  I start most days with something of a devotional flair and then it is off to AR for awhile.  The element of the unknown and the plethora of info keeps you coming back.  For MORE MORE MORE.  Once you get over the "I know it all" hurdle, you to will be addicted!!!

Runners high?  I have always wanted to get addicted to exercise or running but I don't think it is going to happen...

: - (

I think ActiveRain can be a good addiction so long as you are addicted to posting good informational posts for your audience, whomever your audience is.

Maureen, you can typically tell by the point totals, the ones that have an addiction v/s the ones that treat this as a passing fad...

Hi Maureen...

For me, AR started as an addiction. With the passing of time it has become a lifestyle :)

How's that for denial? :)

TLW...ROAR!

TLW, lol, it's not denial if you say it.........I know I am addicted to being on the first page for my google search key words and hearing new clients tell me why they called me. It's become a culture thing for me. There's no place like AR home. Thanks Maureen.

Yes, it is addictive to me. However, there are many benefits down the road to obtain more business as your name gets out there.

thanks Janice,  Todd I think a lot of people are addicted to the business that a blog brings. ActiveRain blogs are just optimized for it and there is community, family, blessings...too. Or learning.  Lots of people get hooked by ActiveRain on the fact that they can learn about so many things so quickly from their peers about finance, technology, marketing....

I never really considered myself to have an addictive personality but you do make a good point here.

Maureen - Active Rain is addictive for sure, but for all the right reasons.  I have learned more about marketing and SEO on AR than anywhere else, and everyone is so friendly.

Right on the money Maureen...and as I said in my comment on Jon's post, it is an addiction that I can afford to not stop. It's a shame, all the people that are really missing out on a free high like this....
