A Child's Toy Teaches Us About Real Estate?

So much of life is about cycles. Things do go down, but they return up also. The durations of the cycles vary.

The seasonal changes we live through with weather are our most obvious example.

Take a look at the steel ball pendulum. Drop the ball on one side and it propels the ball on the other side, with it coming back and applying force all the way through the system to the other end to pop the first ball out again. A very natural thing to observe. Whether it be birth to death to birth again, or Republican to Democrat this year, believe in cycles.

Nothing stays the same at a given point in time, but don't be surprised if you wait awhile you will have one of those I've been here before moments. Don't sweat the small stuff. It is all small stuff.

Over time the energy of those balls runs out and they stop moving.  Let's not apply that part to real estate.

Hi Gary. I love the moving graphic - if you look at it a long time you might hear " "You are getting very sleepy..........."don't sweat the small stuff"...."it's all small stuff" .... Great post today, Gary! Thanks!

Hi Gary

You sure have it right, we are in a cycle and the cycle is coming to an end.

Good luck and success.

Gary, The pendulum perfectly complimented your story! More people should stop and take notice that cycles are an inevitable part of life. Thanks again for a great post!

Love the flash.  Been watching it for hours.  Well, maybe a minute.  It is nice having been around awhile as I have seen everything go in circles several times.  That is a great thing about how our country was built.  When the ball goes to far in one direction, it tends to come back at some point in time....perhaps too far in another direction....and over again.

Gary:  Newton and his laws of physics.  A body at rest stays at rest until acted upon by an outside force.  For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.  And... the rest of those laws, too.  But... how does all of this help us figure out the real reason Sarah Palin quit ?   LOL.  Oh yes... I forgot.  Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff.  I keep forgetting.

Hi Gary, now that I'm done staring at the pendulum - wow, that is so cool - I can comment.  You make such a great point that you can't get so caught up in the cycles - they come and they go - things are constantly changing and I believe it truly comes down to having the right attitude and knowing we choose how to react and accept things.  In the big scheme of life - it is all about the small stuff - that is what matters to me most! ~Anne Marie

Sometimes we feel like the three in the middle getting clobbered. Not moving an inch, just getting clobbered.

Lucky for us we have the option to move. We can move out of the way. Step aside and shake it off.

"Don't sweat the small stuff" is good. Funny how we gotta keep reminding ourselves and each other.

We humans really like fret about stuff.

I love your animated graphic (how didja do THAT?!) I often hope that this is the picture of how the marbles in my head are synchronized... alas, they often act out like a pinball machine instead... on the first day of biology class in 10th grade, Sister Mary Whatsername illustrated pendulum balls like this. That turned out to be the most fascinating class of the whole rest of the year for me! Yes, it all went downhill after that, especially when she brought in the dissected cat...yeow!
