Three Consecutive Months of Home Sales Increase


'3 Months of Growth Fuel Optimism' was the sub head-line in this morning's paper

According to today's Tennessean, the AP reported that June's sales increases may mark the end of the housing slump.

The article goes on to say that while prices are still falling around the country sales are increasing.  

 

This can only mean that as the pent up supply dwindles the prices may soon follow sales and be on the rise.

If the rest of the economy follows the housing market as predicted "recovery" may not be far away.  Speaking for sales in our local Middle Tennessee market, Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin and Spring Hill, I can't remember the last time I have seen such an increase.

Can't you already feel the panic in the buyers. I've had several call me about homes in Franklin that were already under contract. They always seem surprised to find out that other buyers are in the market. The best homes sell first, in every market  Soon, all that will remain are the leftovers. Builders are still on the sidelines. It will be 6 months before they are even getting started. by then it will be too late.

Mike, Thanks for sharing this. Although not a huge fan of the local paper for personal reasons, it is good to see that occasionally, they do print positive stuff. I have been hearing from several agents here in town that things are really picking up...
